Yolanda (Zaino) Savastano
Savastano (Zaino), Yolanda (Linda) Linda Savastano 87 of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Monday (May 20, 2013). She was the beloved wife of the late Alphonse Savastano. Born on July 18, 1925 in White Plains, NY, she was the daughter of the late Pelegrino and Rose (Galate) Zaino. Linda worked for the City of Bristol as a cook for the school system. She was a longtime Bristol resident and member of St. Gregory's Church. She was known for her love of family gatherings, enjoyed the beach and made her home a rest stop for family and friends no matter the time of day. She was a loving wife and mother who will be truly missed by all those who knew her. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Debra and Daniel Benvenuto of Bristol; two sons and a daughter-in law Jeffrey and Debra Savastano of Walpole, MA and Dominick Savastano of Bristol; five grandchildren Melissa, Justin, Nathan, Julia and Kristen; sister-in law Angelina Zaino of Valhalla, NY; brother-in-law Frank (Roy) Tarquinio of Plainville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Anthony Zaino, Alfred (Doc) Zaino, Harry Zaino, Marie Lucente and Connie Tarquinio.
The family would like to recognize the staff at both Shady Oaks Assisting Living in Bristol, CT. and the Vista Hospice for the dedicated care they gave to their mother. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
