Berlin, Mr. Russell W. Robinson, Sr., 84 of Lower Ln., Berlin, passed away December 27, 2013 at New Britain General Hospital. He was the husband of Martha A. (Grey) Robinson.
Russell was born in New Britain on August 30, 1929 the son of the late William and Esther (Freberg) Robinson.
He is a resident of Berlin for the past 49 years moving from New Britain. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the Army. He was a carpenter for Local Union 24 for many years before he retired in 1978.
He loved to build toys and birdhouses for grandchildren.
Besides his wife of Berlin, he is survived by three sons, Russell W. Robinson, Jr. of Meriden, Walter P. Robinson of Berlin and Gordon N. Robinson of Surprise, Arizona. Two daughters, Susan J. Kosakowski, of Bristol and Wendy H. Sullivan of Kensington. One brother, Earl Robinson of Gatherburg, Maryland. Nine grandchildren, Harmony, Heather, Anna, Russell III, Tiffany, Andrew, Alex, Jillian and Cameron. Six great-grandchildren, Amber, Emma, Russell IV, Aubrey, David, Jackson.
Plus several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother William Robinson.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. Markâs Episcopal Church 147 West Main St., New Britain, CT at 11 AM. Burial will be at a later date at the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
