Ruby Oblom, 94, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Bristol, CT, Ruby taught Elementary Education in a one room school house. She was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church and was an accomplished Scrabble Player. Surviving are her son, Chuck (SueEllen) Oblom of North Reading, MA; daughter, Susan (Greg) Crawford of Grabill, IN; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Hannah Johnson; husband, Rudolph Oblom; brother, Elmer Johnson. Service is 2pm Saturday at D. O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior. Funeral service will be held on November 6, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Barnes Memorial Chapel in West Cemetery, Bristol, CT. After the service burial will follow in the cemetery. Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol in charge of local arrangements.
