HOSCHTON, Ga. - Robert J. LaRosa, 54, of Hoschton, Ga., passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at Emory Health Care Hospital in Atlanta. He was the husband of Carolyn (Doty) LaRosa. Robert was born in New Britain Feb. 9, 1952, the son of Mary (DiGiovanni) LaRosa and the late Joseph LaRosa. He lived in Connecticut until he moved to Georgia in 1994. He was a zoning commissioner in Southington for several years. He was the owner of The Quick Shoppee Convenience Store chain in the New Britain, Southington and Bristol area. He was the managing partner for a convenience store chain in Georgia and Tennessee and also owned a candle factory. He was a former member of St. Anthony Church. Bob was passionate about St. Jude Children's Hospital in Tennessee and the Empty Socking Fund for Children in Georgia. Besides his wife, in Georgia, and mother, of New Britain, he is survived by a sister, Roseanne Bucghiere of New Britain; his father and mother-in-law, Wilfred A. and Domenica L. Doty of Bristol; a brother-in-law, Daniel Doty and his wife, Rebecca Doty, and their son, Max Doty, all of Rockfall. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bristol. Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Found-ation, 30 E. 33 St., New York, N.Y. 10016-5357.
