Richard F. Ryan, 89, of 129 Crown St., Bristol, passed away peacefully Friday, June 13, 2008, at Bristol Hospital. He was the husband of Carmella E. (Petosa) Ryan. Richard was born in Stamford, April 9, 1919, the son of the late John and Bridget (Hanley) Ryan. He was a veteran in World War II serving four years in the Army Air Corps, he worked at New Departure Hyatt Division of General Motors for 42 years, before he retired. He was a lifelong devoted member of St. Anthony Church, a 4th Degree Knight, a former member of Pequabuck Golf Club and an avid baseball player playing in many leagues in Bristol and Forestville. He coached for McCabe Waters Little League. Beside his wife he is survived by a sister, Rita Ryan of Bristol, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, June 16, 2008, at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
