Phylis (Wells) Knox, âNanaâ, 91, of Bristol, treasured wife of 68 years to the late Kenneth Knox, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Vitaâs Innovative Hospice Inpatient Unit at St Maryâs Hospital, in Waterbury, CT.
Phylis was born July 1, 1923 in Lowell, Massachusetts, daughter of Earl and Abigail Sarah (Graves) Wells. She was a consummate homemaker and loved cooking, baking, crocheting and time spent with family and friends.
Phylis is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Knox) Roberts of Bristol, her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Knox of Plainville; her 5 grandchildren, Kenneth Knox of Colorado, Dr Karen Dettmer and her husband, Matthew, of Torrington, William Roberts of California, Sarah Roberts of Nebraska and Katherine Guimond and her husband, Raymond, of Bristol; her 5 great-grandchildren, Graelyn, Leah, Justin, Cody and Jessah, as well as her nieces and nephews. Phylis was predeceased by her son, Gary Knox, and all 6 of her siblings.
The family would like to thank Vitaâs Innovative Hospice Care, especially Kate, Lynn and Lindsay, for preserving Phylisâs quality of life while living out her last months at home with her daughter and for ensuring her a dignified death while in their inpatient care unit.
There will be no services. Dunn funeral home of 191 West St, Bristol, is handling arrangements.
