Oneil A. Cyr, 83, of 189 Chapel St. Bristol passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Sheriden Woods Health Care Center. He was the husband of 63 years to Carmen (Caron) Cyr.
He was born in St. Francis, Canada, May 5, 1928, the son of the late Wilfred and Sadie (Dumas) Cyr. He came to Bristol in 1955 and was a member of St. Ann Church. He worked for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator for Industrial Builders until he retired in 1994. Besides his wife of Bristol, he is survived by two sons, James Cyr and Michael Cyr; two daughters, Roseline Peleras and Pauline Madore, one brother and five sisters, five grandchildren; Joseph, Jennifer, Angela, Matthew, and Joshua; and nine great-grandchildren, Cierra, London, Tyler, Triston, Hailey, Alyson, Adrian, Hunter, and Dylan.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol to St. Ann Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made The Connecticut Children's Medical Center 282 Washington St., Hartford, 06106.
