Nancy L. (Serra) Urso, 88, of 28 Magnolia Ave., Bristol, beloved wife of Benjamin P. Urso, passed away Dec. 6, 2011, at Bristol Hospital.
She was born in Plymouth Oct. 22, 1923, the daughter of the late Frederick and Marianne (Ligouri) Serra. She was a resident of Bristol her entire life and was the owner and operator of Nancy's Beauty Salon for 48 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Church and OSIA Club.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Nicholas and his wife, Carolyn Urso; two daughters, Marianne Evanouskas and her husband, Edward and Patricia Malevezzi and her husband, Dale, all of Bristol; a sister, Livia McLarney; six grandchildren, Beth and Edward Rosenblatt of Southington, Thomas and Nicole Malevezzi of Bristol, Nicole and Lonnie Peterson of Bristol, Ben and Jessica Urso, Eric and Keith Evanouskas of Florida; one great-grandson, Dominic Urso Peterson of Bristol; one goddaughter, Roseann Chatfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Adeline Balzano, Mary Balestracci and Ann Fellows; seven brothers, Sossa, Bartholomew, Ralph, Nicholas, Frederick, Vincent and Michael Serra.
The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, to St. Anthony Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
