Vito S. Murrone, 76, of 15 Landry St., Bristol, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at his home. Vito was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Bristol, the son of the late Lorenzo V. and Josephine (Nobile) Murrone.
He worked at Bristol Spring and owned Vito's Smoke Shop. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Marine Corps. He was a life member of the West End Athlete Club and the American Legion. He was an avid sportsman and loved animals. He is survived by his son, Vincent Murrone; a daughter, Joanne Santisteven; a brother, Thomas Murrone and his wife, Patricia; two grandchildren, Tia Brown and Jacson Murrone and a great-granddaughter, Kylee Brown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Gary Murrone; and a brother, Vincenzo James Murrone. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salvation Army, P.O. Box 471, Bristol, CT 06010.
