Mr. Arthur P. Micari
BRISTOL - Mr. Arthur P. Micari, 90, of 70 Tulip St., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, July 14, 2007, at the Bristol Hospital. He was the devoted husband and best friend for 67 years to Bernadette (L'Heurex) Micari.
He was born in Bristol on Feb. 22, 1917, the son of the late Frank and Concetta (Nicosia) Micari. Mr. Micari was a veteran of World War II, Battle of the Bulge. He was employed by New Departure Hyatt Division of General Motors for 42 years before he retired in 1979. He was a member of St. Ann Church and the West End Athletic Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Robert and his wife Diana Micari, of Bristol; a daughter Barbara A. Charron, of Putnam; a brother, Frederick Micari, and his wife Hilda, of Maryland; and a sister-in-law, Mary Micari; four grandchildren, William and his wife Sandy, Michael, Gregg and Lori and her husband Spencer; and four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Nicholas, Ryan and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Armand and Peter; a sister, Mary A. Micari; son-in-law Rene Charron and a granddaughter-in-law, Maura E. (Pratt) Micari.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, to St. Ann Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
