Miriam C. (Moquin) Gurgigno
Miriam Catherine (Moquin) Gurgigno, 88, of Bristol passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, surrounded by her family.
She was the widow of Peter F. Gurgigno Sr. who passed away in 2004. They were married for 62 years. She was born in Bristol on April 3, 1923, the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Braum) Moquin. Miriam was a dedicated wife and mother. Her children were her life. She was such a caring mother, always paying attention to giving of herself unselfishly. She was very talented, doing crafts, sewing and having family dinners. As her children grew to adulthood, she moved her attention to her four grandchildren again always making sure they were having fun and making lasting memories of a Meme that was so special. She worked at GE, Mazzone Insurance and Allied Insurance Company. She was a member St. Anthony Church. She will be missed by all of us and will be in our hearts forever.
She is survived by a son, Peter F. Gurgigno Jr. and his wife, Roseann; a daughter, Joan G. Lindquist and her husband, Richard, all of Bristol; grandchildren, Jodi Bond and her husband, Michael, of Bristol, Peter F. Gurgigno III and his wife, Jennifer, of New York, Jason R. Lindquist and his wife, Melissa, of West Hartford and Julie E. Lindquist of Chicago, Ill.; six great-grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Bond, Peter IV and Jack Gurgigno, Sarah and Hannah Lindquist; a sister, Virginia Anderson of Farmington and a sister in-law, Marguerite Heinimann and her husband, Hellmuth, of Newington. She is predeceased by her two sisters, Shirley Merchant and June Coons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m., at St. Anthony Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol Friday from 9 until 10:30 a.m.
