Marietta (Tomazos) Protu
Marietta (Tomazos) Protu, 85, of 1252 Burlington Ave., Bristol, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at Bristol Hospital. She was the widow of George Protu. She was born in Rhodes, Greece, Aug. 22, 1922, the daughter of the late Alexandros and Christina (Diakostaulianos) Tomazos. She immigrated to the United States in 1981, to be with her daughters. She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. She is survived by a son, Alexandros and his wife, Maria Protu, of Rhodes, Greece; three daughters and their husbands, Christine and Iordanis Giordamnis of Bristol, Hrisi and Lambros Diakolambrianos of Burlington and Ioanna and Manolis Boniatis of Bristol; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol to St. Demetrios Greek Church for the service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at the Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. A Trisagio service will be held Monday, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
