Marguerite (Esten) Sturgeon

Marguerite “Marge” (Esten) Sturgeon, 72, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022.  She was the widow of Frederic Sturgeon.

Marge was born in Bridgeport on June 3, 1949, daughter of the late Earl and Martha F. (Kelly) Esten.  She was a member of Bridge Community Church and the Bristol Senior Center.  She was an avid UConn Women’s basketball, New York Yankees and New York Giants fan.  Marge also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, arts & crafts, bingo, flea markets, festivals, travelling, and her kitties Joy, Domino and Harmony.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Sturgeon and his wife Victoria Patten of Terryville, and John Sturgeon of New Haven, three brothers, Earl, Daniel and James Esten, plus several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and John Esten.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 1, at 12:30 p.m. at Bridge Community Church, 43 School Street, Bristol.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Humane Society.
