Margherita (Morelli) DiMatteo
Mrs. Margherita (Morelli) DiMatteo, 88, of Bristol, passed away, Friday (May 15, 2009), at Ingraham Manor, she was the widow of Pietro DiMatteo. She was born on February 9, 1921 in Alvignano, Italy the daughter of the late Ferdinando and Giovannina (Mongillo) Morelli. Margherita worked for O Z Gedney for many years before she retired in 1986. She was a member of St. Anthony Church. Margherita had many talents which included knitting, sewing, plus canning tomatoes along with her homemade bread, pizza and pastas. The family will cherish this memory always. She is survived by a beloved son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Linda DiMatteo of Bristol; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelina and her husband Franco Pellino, of Alvignano, Italy; four grandchildren, Pete and his wife Christine DiMatteo from Monroe, Natalie Strahowski and her husband Matthew of Plainville, Rosella and Antonella Pellino of Italy; two great grand children, Michael Nicholas DiMatteo and Ryan Matthew Strahowski. In addition, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by a daughter, Domenica DiMatteo. Calling hours will be held at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol on Monday, May 18, 2009 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, Bristol. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Chapel Mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name, to Ingraham Manor 400 North Main St. Bristol, CT 06010
