Louis Lodovico, 92, of Bristol passed away Saturday, April 12, at the Village Green in Forestville. He was the husband of the late Lillian R. âLeeâ (Rushkowski) Lodovico.
Louis was born in Bristol on May 9, 1921, the son of the late Lorenzo and Michelina (Cesstare) Lodovico. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Force. He was a member of St. Anthonyâs Church.
He was the owner of Sportsmen Café for over 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a lifetime member of Jacklin Rod and Gun club for over 50 years. He sponsored many slow pitch teams and was an avid baseball fan including a lifelong New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by his sisters, Florence and her husband Anthony DâAngelo of Bristol and Grace Della Bianca of Bristol; two brothers, Pasquale Lodovico of Bristol and Danny and his wife Shirley Lodovico of Vero Beach, Fla., plus several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Louise Colamussi, Carrie Lodovico, Rose Ann Petosa, and Josephine Baraglia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthonyâs church. Friends may call at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, Conn, on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Bristol.
