Lillian (Hamilton) Wojnarowski, a lifelong resident of Bristol, passed away after a long illness on Thursday morning at Bristol Hospital. She was 81 years old.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Edward Wojnarowski of Bristol. Together, they would've celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 1.
A devoted mother of three and grandmother to five, Lillian Hamilton was born on December 25, 1932 in Bristol. She was the daughter to the late Edgar and Eva (Dube) Hamilton, and the sister of three deceased older brothers (John, William and George).
She graduated from Bristol High School in 1950, and worked several years at Sessions Clock in Forestville, Conn., until she started to raise the first of her three children. Lillian is survived by her son Bryan Wojnarowski of Bristol and his wife, Laurie; her daughter Brenda (Wojnarowski) Bissonnette of Bristol and her husband Daniel; and her son Adrian Wojnarowski of Northern New Jersey and his wife Amy.
In her later years, her five grandchildren were the joys of her life: Neal Bissonnette, Tyler Wojnarowski, Eric Bissonnette, Anna Wojnarowski and Benjamin Wojnarowski.
She was an active parishioner and volunteered in several endeavors at St. Stanislaus Parish Church for nearly 20 years, including the annual church festival, weekly offertory collections and bingo.
She also helped coordinate several Bristol High School reunions for the Class of 1950.
Family and friends can gather in remembrance of Lillian's life on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home on 191 West Street in Bristol. A funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on 510 West Street in Bristol.
