John J. Rao, Jr.
Bristol, Mr. John J. Rao Jr., 90, of 18 Wolcott St., Ave. passed away on Friday, December 3, 2004 at Subacute Center of Bristol.
He was the loving wife of 61 years Edith (Pennito) Rao.
John was born in Bristol on December 5, 1913, the son of the late Giovianni and Dolorada (Biondi) Rao.
He graduated from Bristol High School and attended evening courses at Trinity College in Hartford. He was a sergeant and veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of Okinawa. He was employed by Associated Spring Wallace Barnes as a Lab Technician. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. His sense of humor will be missed very much also.
Beside his wife, he is survived by two sons, John J. Rao III & wife, Patricia Corcoran of Burlington, VT and son James & wife, Ritsuko Rao of Bristol a daughter Dolores Carson of Saratoga, NY, two grandchildren, April Carson and Grace Rao; two sister Sally Decker of Bristol and Filomena Gould of Deltona, Florida.
Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased four brothers Ralph (Ruffy),Nicholas, Patrick and George Rao.
Religious service will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St., Bristol. Burial, with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol, on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service
