John Anthony Bisignano
John Anthony Bisignano, 86, died peacefully Jan. 16, 2006 in Orlando, Fla., surrounded by his loving wife, Domenica (Spinello) Bisignano and his devoted sons, John A. Bisignano Jr. and Thomas F. Bisignano. John was born in Bristol Oct. 14, 1919 and was a son of the late Antonio and Lucia (Corletto) Bisignano. He resided in Bristol most of his life before living in Orlando, Fla. for the past four years. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. John was the general manager for Bristol Spring Manufacturing Co. in Plainville and later for Barrett Co. in Bristol. He was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he was a commentator and for more than 10 years served on the Jubilee fund-raising committee that supported the church and the school. He was a member of the Elks Club, where he and his wife spent many Saturday nights dancing with dear friends. He served as a member of the Bristol Savings Bank Citizens Advisory Board and the Connecticut Spring Manufacturers Asso-ciation. He was president of the Bristol Central High School Booster Club during the years his sons participated in sports. John had a love for travel, especially when it included visiting his children and grandchildren, and took great pleasure in entertaining everyone with his interesting and heartwarming stories. He will be most remembered as a gentle, loving, caring and responsible husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Joseph, and his sister Katherine. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Domenica S. Bisignano; his daughters, Linda B. Conlin and husband, Shaun, of Fairfax, Va. and Paula B. Bird and S. Robert Rimer of Stuart, Fla.; sons John A. Bisignano Jr. and wife, Kathleen, and Thomas F. Bisignano and wife, Terri, all of Orlando, Fla.; his grandchildren, Army Capt. Shaun S. Conlin Jr. of Fort Benning, Ga., Sara A. Conlin of Fairfax, Va., Keegan B. Bird and Hanna J. Bird of Stuart, Fla., Kelsey F. Bisignano and Justin T. Bisignano of Orlando, Fla., and John A. Bisignano III and Emily K. Bisignano of Orlando, Fla.; his sisters, Mickey B. Pasqualicchio and Angie B. Roberts of Bristol; his sister-in-law, Ann B. Bisignano of Bristol; and many nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol to St. Anthony Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
