James V. DePalma
James V. DePalma, 82, of 62 Sigourney St., Bristol passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 at Bristol Hospital after a long illness. James was born in Lawrence, Mass. on Dec. 4, 1923, the son of the late Angelo and Anna (DeMichele) DePalma. He moved to Bristol at the age of 2 and graduated from Bristol High School Technical School in 1942. James served in U.S. Coast Guard during WW II and then worked for New Departure-Hyatt Division of General Motors for 44 years retiring in 1988. He was an avid golfer and was a former member of Pequabuck Golf Club. He was a member of BPOE No. 1010 and the American Legion. He also belonged to St. Anthony Church. He is survived by a brother, Joseph DePalma and his wife, Sally; a sister, Stella DePalma; nephews Richard DePalma and his wife, Lisa; Mark DePalma and his wife, Lori; a niece, Joanne Donati and her husband, Gary; great-nephews Michael, John and Matthew DePalma and Nicholas Donati; great-and nieces Christine and Samantha DePalma. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol to St. Anthony Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bris-tol. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Donations can be made to St. Anthony Development Fund, 111 School St., Bristol, CT 06010.
