Henry Charles Schilling, 62 of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Ingraham Manor Nursing Home, after fighting a brave battle with complications from a lifelong illness. The youngest of 18 children, Henry was born on February 16, 1954, to the late Joseph & Malvina (Phaneuf) Schilling and was a lifetime resident of the city of Bristol. After working for the City of Bristol’s Board of Education for nearly 40 years, he finally retired in 2011.
Henry was very well known around town and was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Henry was a loving father and he had a work ethic like no other. He was an avid Boston Red Sox & Green Bay Packers fan and loved anything to do with classic cars, oldies music, cooking, models cars & puzzles.
He is survived by a son, Brad Schilling of Bristol, and 2 daughters - Melissa Arnett of Terryville and Sheri Schilling of Windsor Locks. He is also survived by his brother Dave and wife Mary Schilling of Ellington, a sister Florence Warner of Bristol, and 78 nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by numerous brothers and sisters, including: William, James, Charles, Paul, Carl, Marvin, Malvina, Charlotte, Georgianna, Elizabeth, Pauline, Anna, Josephine and Pearl.
Family and friends may call at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be a private ceremony held at the convenience of the family in Peacedale Cemetery.
