Gordon James Kilduff

Gordon (Jim) Kilduff, 96 of Bristol died peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024. A lifelong resident of Bristol, Gordon was born on October 30, 1927, to the late Gordon V. and Grace (Hoyting) Kilduff. He was the widower of Genevieve (Thomas) Kilduff whom he married at St. Joseph Church on July 19, 1952. Raised on King St. in East Bristol, he attended Mary A. Callen School. Gordon was a graduate of Bristol High School class of 1945. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A graduate of Hillyer College (University of Hartford) in 1951, he was captain of the 1949 baseball team. He also played for several local teams including the Forestville Eagles and the Celtics. Gordon served the youth of Bristol from the mid 50's to the early 1980's by coaching the Chief's in the Thomas M. Monahan Senior Pony League, leading then to 8 championship seasons. He was employed by the State of Connecticut Labor Department as a manager of local offices and later as a District Manager. After his retirement, he volunteered as an Ombudsman of the State of Connecticut for Bristol nursing homes and later worked for many years as a lay minister in Bristol nursing homes as a member of the Epiphany Prayer Community.

Gordon is survived by three daughters, Mary, Martha and Ann Kilduff all of Bristol and a son, James T. Kilduff and his wife Anne of Terryville and three grandchildren, Tricia Wolowicz and her husband Todd of Burlington, Joseph Kilduff and his wife Chalaine of Plymouth, and Genna-Marie Kilduff of Bothell, Washington. He also leaves four great grandchildren, Christopher and Timothy Wolowicz, and Brooklyn and Beckham Kilduff as well as a niece Kathleen Robinson and her husband Peter and a nephew David Kaplunic.

Calling hours will be held at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. on Friday, morning March 15, 2024, from 10:00 -11:30 AM. Funeral Service will be conducted by the Rev. Shirley Benoit at 11:30. Burial will follow with Military Honors at the West Cemetery, Bristol
