Gloria V. "Dolly" (Huhn) DiGrappa
Gloria V. "Dolly" (Huhn) DiGrappa, 86, of 339 Hill St., Bristol, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Bristol Hospital. She was married to Joseph A. DiGrappa for the past 38 years. Dolly was born in New Orleans, La., July 6, 1923, daughter of the late Alex and Ellen M. (Hannafin) Huhn. She was raised by her step-father, Clifford Towner. She was a former Girls Club swimmer and an avid Bingo player. Anybody she considered family came first above everything. She was a loving, giving, caring person and very strong. She was a member of St Anthony Church, Eastern Star Olivet Chapter No. 29, O.E.S. and BPOE No. 1010. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Oria-Aun Rushing of Metairie, La., and Ellan-Aun Rushing of Slidell, La.; a sister, Peggy Towner Mathews of Slidell, La.; five grandchildren, Robert L. Babin, III, Jeremy J. Himel, Melanie B. Jarrell, Jonathan R. Himel and Mary E. Dardeau; plus five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Willis A. Rushing Jr., and a brother, Bertrand Towner. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Dec. 10, at 11:30 a.m., at St Anthony Church. Friends may call at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St Joseph Cemetery.
