Geraldine Marie Luisi

Geraldine Marie (Rentschler) Luisi, 97, of Bristol, CT, passed away peacefully in her home on November 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family who cared for her during her final weeks in the home she built with her husband.

 She was born on March 29, 1927, in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late John and Bernadetta (Hellstern) Rentschler. She was pre-deceased by parents, two brothers, John and Donald as well as her husband, Thomas of whom they would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on October 27. 

She was also pre-deceased by her son James “Jimmy” Luisi. Geraldine is survived by her daughter Laurie Kolosky and husband Peter of Winsted, CT; her son John and his significant other Margery DellaFiore both of Bristol, CT as well as her two cherished granddaughters Sydney Kolosky and Hayley Kolosky also of Winsted, CT. Geraldine enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her children and being involved in their lives and those of her granddaughters.

 She loved gardening and was often found in her many gardens throughout her yard or tending regularly to her beautiful rose bush. She loved watching the UCONN girls’ basketball games and making turkey dinners. She will be remembered for her unending support of her family and the giver of the best stocking stuffers at Christmas. She was a faithful communicant of St. Gregory Church and a firm believer in God and Heaven. She will be dearly missed by her family. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at St. Gregory Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
