Frederick Norman Clarke
Frederick Norman Clarke, 93, of 57 Matilda Drive, Bristol, passed away peacefully Sept. 8, 2010, at the Bristol Hospital Hospice Unit. He was the widower of Madean "Mae" R. (Pilbin) (Huntley) Clarke. He was born on Sept. 15, 1916, in Leominister, Mass., the son of the late Frederick J. Clarke and Lillian (Anders) Clarke Schallis and a stepfather, Otto Schallis. He was with the city of Bristol working in the park department for over 30 years before he retired in 1981. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Bristol, for 82 years. He was proud of his service in World War II in the CC camps. Frederick is survived by, a sister, Thelma Clarke Anderson; sister-in-law, Joyce Tanner; a god daughter, Danice Mulvey; plus many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a stepson, Edward Allyn Huntley; a sister, Marjorie (Clarke) Bossi; and a brother, Paul Clarke. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., at the Prospect United Methodist Church, 99 Summer St., Bristol. Burial will follow in West Cemetery.
