Donald C. White, 79 husband of Sophie (Bobinski) White of fifty seven years Bristol died
Saturday May 27, 2006 at Bristol Hospital. He was born in Bennington Vermont May 21, 1927 son of the late George White and Marguerite (Curran) Colasanti. Donald was employed as an electrician for Pratt @ Whitney of Southington for twenty-seven years retiring in 1991. Donald was a member of St Stanislaus Church He was a WWII Navy Veteran; he was a member of the Bristol American Legion Post 2 and on the baseball committee. The VFW Post 572 of Thomaston, the Bristol Polish American Citizen Club, Captain Edmund Zbikowski Post 2 the Knights of Columbus council. He was a great Cardinal Baseball Fan and the Bristol American Legion Baseball.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son. Gregory and his wife Kym White of Bristol, a daughter, Mary and her husband Terry DellaVecchia of Bristol. A twin brother, William R. White of Thomaston. Six grandchildren, Gina Pagano, Kristen Osowiecki, Jennifer DellaVecchia, Aaron DellaVecchia, Tory White and Lyndsey White. One great-grandson Gabriel Pagano and three great-granddaughters, Grace and Lily Pagano and Alexis Osowiecki. Several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St. Bristol to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
