David Smith Carothers, 68, of Bristol, CT went home to be with his Lord on April 18, 2017. He was born October 27, 1948 and grew up in Wallingford, CT. With a passion for evangelism, he shared The Gospel in the Meriden/Wallingford areas as well as across the country while driving trucks. When not traveling as an owner-operator for Carothers’ Carriers, he would be spending time at area Dunkin Donuts with an infectious smile, an outpouring of Love for everyone and kind encouraging words for anyone with an open ear. His Love for people was truly amazing and lived by the saying, “There are no strangers here; Only friends I haven’t yet met.”
David leaves his wife Antoinette, children Heather, Victoria, Adeline and David of Tennessee, Troy of Florida, Sherri, Carey and Jeremy of Connecticut and 14 grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers, Scott, Wayne and Barry and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents James and Shirley and his brother George of Florida.
His last post summarizes his heart: “Everyone who lives in Me and believes in Me will never ever die” John 11:25
