Concetto J. (Chet) Torneo, 86, of Bristol, CT, passed away, Saturday, March 21, 2015 at The Bristol Hospital, he was the husband of Mary (Maniccia) Torneo..
Chet was born in Winsted, CT on April 19, 1928,.the son of the late Sebastiano and Giovannina (Bazzano) Torneo.
He was a veteran in the Korean War receiving a Bronze Star. He worked at Bristol Brass company for 33 years and at Green Hill School for 10 years
He spent most of his life volunteering for St. Anthony Church and receiving The Archdiocesan St. Joseph Medal of Honor award in 2012.
Beside his wife of Bristol, he is survived by, 2 sons, John J. Torneo and Leo M. Torneo both of Bristol and a special granddaughter, Lydia M. McGuiness, plus nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Bristol Hospital ICU and the floor G23 for all the caring and care giving their father.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony Church, Bristol, CT, at 10:00 on Wednesday March 25th. Burial will follow with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery Bristol, CT. Calling hours will be at Dunn Funeral Home 191 West St., Bristol, CT 06010 on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM.
