Armand J. Massaro
SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. - Armand J. Massaro, 90, formerly of Bristol, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, in Florida. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Bruneau) Massaro. He was born in Bristol, the son of the late Frank and Minnie (Samartino) Massaro. In 1971, he retired as a machinist at New Departure-Hyatt Division of General Motors after 31 years of service. He was a cancer survivor of 35 years. He was a former trustee of Sun City Americans of Italian Heritage and a communicant and frequent volunteer at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He enjoyed dancing, traveling and frequently visiting the casinos in Biloxi and Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine (Whalen) Massaro of Bristol and Torrington; a sister, Josephine; and a brother, Fran Massaro. Survivors include his son, William Massaro and his wife, Cynthia, of Medfield, Mass.; two stepsons, Richard Bruneau and his wife, Patricia, of Wethersfield and Brian Bruneau and his wife, Mary, of Southington; a nephew, David Massaro, and his children, Whitney and Andrew, all of Bristol; and seven stepgrandchildren. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol. A graveside service will be held Saturday at noon in St. Joseph Cemetery.
