Aloysious A. Dovitski
Aloysious A. Dovitski, 83, of 288 Wolcott St., Bristol, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Bristol Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the widower of Ann (Serpelia) Dovitski and was married for 57 years. Al was born in Bristol on Aug. 17, 1922, the son of the late Alex and Dorothy Ann (Kemicki) Dawiczyk. He is greatly missed by all. He was a longtime resident of Bristol and a member of St. Stanislaus Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Hartley Tool and Die Co. in Thomaston for over 25 years, and then part owner of Reynolds Carbide Tools and Die, until he retired in the late '70s. He also owned a family owned Dovitski Paving for many years. He was a devoted father and grandfather and is survived by two daughters, Margaret and her husband, Allen Yandow, and Patricia and her husband, Francis Fazio of Bristol; three brothers, Joseph Dawiczk, Edward Davis and Henry Dovitski; four grandchildren, Joseph and Christina Yandow, Francis and Gina Fazio; and several nieces of nephews. He is predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Military funeral will be held Tuesday, 9 a.m., from Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors in St. Mary Cemetery, Terryville.
