Alfred A. Monico, Jr.
Alfred A. Monico Jr., 71, of 29 Emory Court, Bristol, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008, at Bristol Hospital. He was the widower of Joan (Dziubek) Monico. Al was born in Bristol Jan. 1, 1937, the son of Alfred A. Sr. and Jennie (Sosinski) Monico. A lifelong resident of Bristol, he attended the Bristol school system. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Navy. He worked for the state of Connecticut in the Correction Department for 32 years and then worked for the Bristol school system for more than 12 years before he retired 10 years ago. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Italian Social Club, life member of Pequabuck Golf Club and BPOE. Beside his parents of Bristol, he is survived by a sister, Barbara Krol of Bristol, and his mother-in-law, Agnes Dziubek of Bristol. He was predeceased by a sister, Linda DiYulio. Funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
