Alexander O. Porrini
Alexander O. Porrini, 59, of 453 Center St., Meriden, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Alex was born in Bristol Dec. 31, 1950, the son of the late Alexander and Beulah O. (Pelkey) Porrini. He was a carpenter his whole life and also worked at Jonal Laboratory in Meriden for the past seven years. He was a member of the Meriden American Legion and was an avid rider of antique motorcycles. He loved to collect wartime memorabilia. He is survived by two sons, Alexander J. "AJ" Porrini and Matthew D. Porrini, both of Meriden; a loving daughter, Monique (Porrini) Sullivan, married to Stephen Sullivan of Chicago, Ill.; also grandfather of two, Alexander and Caitlin Sullivan of Chicago; three brothers, Joseph Porrini of Meriden, Thomas Porrini of Terryville and Paul Porrini of Groton; a sister, Heidi Caron of Kentucky. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 23, at 10 a.m. from St. Anthony Church, Bristol. Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol is in charge of the arrangements.
