Albert P. Stanley, 88, of 11 Greer Road, Burlington, passed away, Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Countryside Manor in Bristol. He was the widower of Jean (Pratt) Stanley. He was born in Bristol on Sept. 7, 1922, the son of the late Albert P. and Joan (Acorn) Stanley. Al was a veteran of WWII serving in the Navy. He was Burlington building inspector for 20 years retiring in 1965 and was a self employed builder in Bristol and in Burlington. He was an assistant fire chief for the volunteer fire department in Burlington. He is survived by a son, Robert P. Stanley and his wife, Gail, of Newington; a daughter, Roxanne M. Johnson and her husband, Roy, of Burlington; a sister, Barbara Bucanan of Simsbury; and two grandchildren, Brett Stanley and Britney Stegbauer; a great granddaughter, Kylie Stegbauer; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2010, at 7 p.m., at Dunn Funeral Home, 191 West St., Bristol, CT 06010. Burial with military honors will be held in the spring in Burlington Center Cemetery in Burlington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday form 6 p.m. until time of the service.
